Normally, I post positive things, blessings, miracles and just happy life in general. But today my heart is heavy with the sad news of someone I do not know, have never met or seen. A little boy tragically ran over … Continue reading →
Flowers whisper what words cannot say…. So as I continue with my abstract photography, this particular one reminds me of a watercolor painting. The free flow of paint and the little smudges, blurs and imperfections are what I love the … Continue reading →
I seem to be hung up lately on abstracts…probably because they are hard to mess up! This one turned out really cool and reminded me of a hurricane, thus the title “Rock you like a Hurricane”! Its funny how certain shapes and colors remind you of things. I don’t know about the rest of you, but when I was a kid, before all the wii games etc. came out, my sister and I would lie on our backs in the backyard and find pictures in the clouds for hours on end. When I look back on the more simpler times, it makes me realize and appreciate all the little blessings we receive everyday! Have a great weekend everyone, and if you get a chance, try to find something in the clouds! I guarantee it will make you smile 🙂
Sometimes, when you find that winter has pretty much stripped away all the fun colors, then it becomes up to you to create your own! I have a bottle tree in my backyard that has several colorful glass bottles on display. Some are just wine bottles, but there are many that are antique. When you look carefully, you can see all the little bubbles, especially when the sun is shining through them! I couldn’t resist…me and my camera made for a happy day!
Purple is one of my favorite colors! It has been said that if your surround yourself with purple you will have peace of mind, good judgment and character! It is also a good color for meditation and is the color most favored by artist. F
Just playing around with a new app for my camera phone! Its amazing what technology can do…take a bad photo and turn it into a piece of art! Nowadays, it seems there are no mistakes in photograph with all the apps, textures and layers you add to change the whole look. It does however, minimize the natural beauty from the eye of the camera holder. Keep on shooting those awesome photos, but every now and then have fun playing with the ones that didn’t turn out too great! Have Fun!
Funny story…first let me say Happy Valentines Day everyone! My sweet hubs sent me some chocolate covered strawberries for Valentines Day! Of course, I had to take a photo and put it on my fb page. My sister asked if they were “Sherry Berries” and I commented that I would let her know as soon as I finished the dozen. Well, she meant the name brand “Shari’s”! Needless to say I didn’t catch a booze buzz, but now I have a stomach ache lol!
Well, Im just tickled pink about the sunshine finally on my face!! Its been soooo cold and humid in my neck of the woods and Im sucking up every bit of it…outside of course with my camera:) So my quest to become a better photography has me thinking about an upgrade. Ive had my Sony 350 DLSR for about 8yrs now and was looking at the Nikon until…the sales person showed me the Sony a7r. Wow, a whole different powerful lightweight camera. Decisions, decisions…oh well, until I can research and make a smart decision, I will keep shooting with my 350! If your lucky enough to have the sun shining in your neighborhood go outside, GO, NOW and enjoy it!
As I sit here alone, as I usually do this time of the evening I can reflect on the day and what I have accomplished to do. Not much, a little house work, laundry….the usual, but what has me thinking is the book I have been reading about introverts and extroverts. The book is “Quiet” by Susan Cain. Ive come to realize that there is nothing wrong with being an introvert “thats me”! I actually like to spend time alone and thats not such a bad thing, after all, on a normal day when the hubs is home, the tv is blaring, his loud voice on the phone, the dog barking…you get it! So quiet time has become my safe haven, a place where I can think and reflect. Tomorrow will be a different day, things to do, places to go, busy busy! So for now I will enjoy the moon and think of sweet blessings!
